US sanctions will lead to downfall of Georgia’s ruling power, opposition leader

The United States will continue its sanctions policy against individuals undermining the democratic system in Georgia and those who declare America as an enemy, stated Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli opposition party on Tuesday. 

According to Vashadze, these sanctions will be a key factor in the downfall of the Georgian Dream ruling party.

“The US has clearly established its position to maintain sanctions against those who oppose the democratic system in Georgia, who declare America and Europe as enemies, and who wish to divert Georgia from its path toward European integration.

This stance is strongly supported by the genuine will of the Georgian people, which was evident during the massive protests, he added. 

 

“These sanctions will lead to the downfall of the GD”, Vashadze stressed.
