US Senate approves resolution, calling on State Secretary to labell Russia a sponsor of terrorism

The  US  Senate has approved a resolution calling on the Secretary of State to labell Russia as a state sponsoring terrorism for its actions in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine, which have resulted in the deaths of thiousands of civilians for years.

 

A similar resolution has been submitted to the House of Representatives, although the State Department has the authority to recognize a country as a sponsor of terrorism.

 

Cuba, North Korea, Iran and Syria are recognized as states sponsoroing terrorism by the US.

 

Currently Russia occupies two regions of Georgia, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali, amounting to 20 percent of a total area of the country.

 

Kyiv has many times called on the internationa community to labelle Russia as a terrorist country for its actions in Ukraine.
