US Senate Foreign Relations Committee says Georgia belongs in Euro-Atlantic family

US Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday reacted to the European Commission’s recommendation to the Council to grant Georgia the bloc’s membership candidate status in December and launch accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova. 

 

“Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova all belong in theEuro-Atlantic family”, it said. 

 

The European Council is now expected to grant Georgia candidacy with nine conditions.
