US set to announce new military aid package for Ukraine

The United States is set to announce a new package of military aid to Ukraine, John Kirby, the coordinator of the National Security Council of the White House, said on Monday. 

“You saw the aid package under the USA that was announced at the end of the week. I think very, very soon you will see additional aid packages from the United States,” he said.

Kirby noted Washington “knows exactly what Ukraine needs”, including for the ongoing counteroffensive operations.

“We will focus on ensuring that Ukraine succeeds on the battlefield,” Kirby said.

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. Kyiv is now undertaking its first counteroffensive since the launch of hostilities on February 24.
