Putin may have an intention of aggression against other countries in the region, but that US’ assistance to Ukraine shows Washington’s response and that the United States and its allies and partners will not tolerate similar action, US Department of State Spokesperson Ned Price said on Wednesday.

He stated that Georgia and Moldova “are important partners” of the United States and that the US is committed to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the two countries.

Price suggested that the US is in close contacts with its partners in the region, including with Tbilisi, through embassies and departments.

Georgia would receive $35 million out of the $713 million allocated by the United States for Ukraine and 15 other countries to strengthen their defense against the threats coming from Russia.

The US announced the decision at the end of April.
