The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has expelled 25 foreign nationals as part of a coordinated effort to combat illegal migration, the ministry announced on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out in recent days in cooperation with the Migration Department and other relevant units of the ministry. The individuals expelled were citizens of Azerbaijan, Egypt, Turkey, India, Jordan, Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Armenia, and China.

“In accordance with current legislation, the expelled persons have also been banned from re-entering the country,” the ministry said.

Authorities stressed that the Migration Department was the primary agency responsible for enforcing immigration laws and identifying foreign nationals residing in Georgia without legal status.
