Georgia has deported 30 foreign nationals in recent days following coordinated operations by the Interior Ministry’s Migration Department and other divisions of the ministry, the MIA announced on Tuesday.

Those expelled were citizens of India, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Russia, Belarus, Iraq, Jordan and Lithuania. Under Georgian law, they have also been banned from re-entering the country.

The Interior Ministry said the deportations had been carried out as part of efforts to combat illegal migration. The Migration Department is responsible for identifying foreign citizens without legal grounds to remain in Georgia and enforcing deportation measures.
