Inspectors from the National Food Agency’s Tbilisi Department, along with specialists from the Veterinary Control Division, have identified serious violations in veterinary clinics during a state inspection across the capital.
The agency on Monday said out of 20 inspected facilities, eight clinics were found in breach of regulations: Akhali Veterinary Clinic LLC, individual entrepreneur D.S., Veterinary Clinic Vet.Art LLC, DTNB LLC, Zaravet LLC, Vetcenter Zooplaza LLC, individual entrepreneur T.Dz. (Bionika), and Vet. Hospital LLC.
Two clinics were suspended due to improper sterilisation of instruments. Inspectors also found breaches in vaccine storage procedures, use of unregistered, expired, or unsafe medications, and operation without registration in the economic activity registry, leading to fines for the business operators.
The National Food Agency said it continued to monitor clinics, veterinary pharmacies, and pet stores in an ongoing control programme. This year, inspections are planned for nearly 1,500 facilities under veterinary oversight.
