Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine's Defence Forces carried out overnight drone strikes on two oil refineries in Russia, targeting facilities in the Krasnodar region and the Yaroslavl region.
Zelenskyy said the strikes hit the Slavyansk Oil Refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region, around 300 kilometres from the front line, as well as a refinery in the Yaroslavl region, approximately 700 kilometres away.
"We continue our operations that weaken Russia's ability to wage this war. Every one of our long-range strikes means fewer resources available to Russia's war machine and another step toward peace," Zelenskyy said in a social media post.
The President added that Kyiv would continue responding to "Russian terror" and thanked Ukrainian service members and all international partners supporting the country's defence efforts.
