Valeri Chechelashvili, Head of Political Studies at the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center, has emphasized the importance of compromise for the ruling Georgian Dream party, warning that delaying such efforts could negatively affect their political future.

Speaking about the current situation in Georgia, Chechelashvili identified four key factors influencing the nation’s trajectory. He pointed to the rising and increasingly impactful public protests, where citizens are expressing their dissatisfaction with growing intensity. He also noted the inevitability of a looming wave of sanctions, which are approaching rapidly and could have a profound impact. Additionally, he warned of an imminent economic crisis, as the country stands on the brink of significant instability. Finally, he highlighted emerging cracks within the seemingly monolithic structure of the Georgian Dream, emphasizing that internal divisions are beginning to surface despite the party’s outward appearance of unity.

“The sooner Georgian Dream starts looking for ways to compromise, the better it will be for their political future,” Chechelashvili stated, emphasizing the urgency for dialogue and constructive steps to address the nation’s challenges.
