After today’s trilateral meetings conclude, the US administration will significantly intensify its engagement with Georgia, said Valeri Chechelashvili, Head of Political Studies at the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center.
According to him, Washington will have specific messages for Tbilisi.
“I believe that after today’s trilateral meetings, the United States administration will become seriously active towards Georgia. This may be reflected in two main actions – the appointment of a new US ambassador, who will be Trump’s envoy and will arrive in Georgia with concrete messages. How the ruling Georgian Dream receives these messages will determine how quickly the MEGOBARI Act is adopted,” Chechelashvili stated.
US President Donald Trump is hosting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today at the White House.
Trump said the United States will sign bilateral agreements with both countries to jointly leverage economic opportunities and fully utilize the potential of the South Caucasus region.
