Three Georgian citizens injured in Warsaw altercation, one fatally stabbed

According to Warsaw police, a violent altercation in front of a restaurant on Constitution Square left three Georgian citizens injured. One of them, a 31-year-old man, was transported to the hospital with a chest wound but succumbed to his injuries.

“Three Georgian citizens have been detained in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing,” Warsaw police stated.

Polish news outlet Polsat News reported that eight individuals were involved in the fight.

On February 8, Polish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jacek Dobrzynski revealed on social media that 1,895 Georgian citizens were arrested in Poland in 2024, with 136 sentenced to prison. Additionally, 2,589 Georgians were deported from Poland last year, and 322 are currently in Polish penitentiary facilities.
