In order to show our ‘fierce unity,’ it’s best if we all visit Ukraine together. Therefore, as a Vice Speaker, I have decided to coordinate the process and have already received agreement from all opposition parties in the parliament, said Levan Ioseliani, the Deputy Chair of the Georgian Parliament and the member of the opposition party Citizens.

“Today, based on an international situation, expressing fierce support and assistance to Ukraine is needed more by Georgia than by Ukraine. Our party leader Alexander Elisashvili has been fighting in Ukraine for already a month to show that. Following the events in Bucha, all opposition politicians wanted to go there one by one and offer condolences to our fellow country. However, I think, in order to show our fierce unity now, it’s best if we all visit Ukraine together. Therefore, as a Vice Speaker, I have decided to coordinate it and have already received agreement from all opposition parties in the parliament,” he said.

Ioseliani expressed hope that since Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili was unable to visit Bucha, the ruling party members would join the Georgian delegation, adding it was a time to ‘demonstrate unity.’
