Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has praised Georgia for its courage, describing it as a country worthy of great respect. Speaking in response to a Georgian journalist’s question about criticism from European bureaucrats, Orbán pointed to what he sees as a global effort to undermine Georgia’s elected government.

“In Hungary, we have a saying: ‘A cowardly nation is worth nothing.’ Against this backdrop, Georgia is a country that commands great respect from us,” Orbán said. “I visited Georgia just days after the parliamentary elections, when Hungary held the EU presidency, and I brought a lot of energy with me. I was surprised by the mood I found there,” he added.

He accused the Soros Foundation of working to oust Georgia’s government, which, he emphasized, was chosen by the people. “The Soros Foundation is doing everything it can to change Georgia’s government, even though it was elected by the people. The same thing is happening in Hungary, just on a different scale,” Orbán said. “I believe that it is a moral duty for countries under attack by globalists to stand firm, and we are doing the same.”

Orbán said he believes that globalists are losing the battle and will suffer even more defeats in the future. “Globalists are losing; they are failing. In two years, when we meet again, the situation will be very different. Globalists are backing other agendas, but in two years, we will be the majority, and Georgia’s future will be bright, with all doors — including the EU — open to it,” Orbán declared.
