Rikard Jozwiak,  the Europe Editor of Radio Free Europe, on Thursday said he “was told the Georgian side had canceled” the president Salome Zourabichvili’s address to the European Parliament on April 18.

“In the end Georgia will not address the EP plenary in Strasbourg next week. Was scheduled. Was told the Georgian side canceled it”, he said.

Zourabichvili’s administration on Thursday confirmed the postponement of the scheduled Brussels visit without providing reasons.

The president announced her trip last month to promote the country’s European aspirations, claiming the authorities would not hamper her determination for the country’s European future.
