Well-known Georgian opera singer Paata Burchuladze, who has expressed support for the opposition mayoral candidate in the western Kutaisi city, has stated that he was not let in Kutaisi opera building earlier today.

Burchuladze states that he had plans to come to the opera building with the United National Movement (UNM) mayoral candidate in Kutaisi, Khatia Dekanoidze, and listen to the problems of opera staff.

Kutaisi opera administration has dismissed accusations and stated that the building has been closed for several days due to the coronavirus quarantine.

Burchuladze entered politics back in 2016 and even participated in the 2016 parliamentary elections.

However, he left politics shortly after the failure in the race.
