Whether convicted former President Mikheil Saakashvili is poisoned or not, it will be revealed in the coming days, Mariam Jishkarian, the head of the Empathy Center told Front News on Tuesday, as Saakashvili had undergone a toxicological analysis, with the results to be available on October 21.

The suspicion that the third president of Georgia could be poisoned was caused by his deteriorated heath, lawyers said.

Shalva Khachapuridze, Saakashvili’s lawyer, has stated that it would depend on the expert opinion whether they would apply to the court with the request to postpone the sentence.

“Ultimately, these documents will be reflected in Mariam Jishkarian’s expert opinion.

If there is a seriously ill person, we will apply to the court, if there is no serious condition, according to the current Georgian legislation, we cannot apply with the motion,” Khachapuridze said.

According to the lawyer, Mikheil Saakashvili’s health condition is “very complicated”.
