Junior Sergeant Joni Topuria, a wounded military serviceman and a four-time world and European champion, has been honored among the top 10 Georgian athletes of 2023 in non-Olympic sports.

In the realm of non-Olympic sports, sports journalists identified the best federations, and the respective federations determined the outstanding athletes.

The award ceremony for the best sportsmen took place at the Biltmore Hotel on the anniversary evening of JAKO, the sole sports media association. Winners received medals, certificates, and gifts in recognition of their achievements.

Dignitaries from the Government of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, diplomatic corps, sports federations, and representatives from the fields of sports, culture, and media graced the event.
