Yellow micro–buses to be fully replaced with new vehicles starting February

Yellow mini-buses, so-called Marshutkas, will be fully replaced with new vehicles starting February 1 where passengers will be able to use season tickets in accordance with the new fare system for public transport in capital Tbilisi.

The Tbilisi government says that 1,000 new vehicles have already been brought to the capital city and all of them will begin serving passengers starting next month. 

The cards which are currently used in the public transport could be used for one-time trip only when the new fare system comes into play. 

Starting February 1: 

An unlimited one-day card will cost 3 GEL. 

An unlimited one-week card will cost 20 GEL. 

An unlimited one-month card will cost 40 GEL.

An unlimited three-month card will cost 100 GEL. 

An unlimited sixth-month card will cost 150 GEL.

An unlimited one-year card will cost 250 GEL.

 

The local government also says that Melikishvili street in central Tbilisi will become two-way for public transport. 

They say that a tender has already been announced for the reconstruction of the street and details will become known to the public soon.
