Georgian political analyst Zaal Anjaparidze on Thursday described the brutal murder of 31-year-old publicist Charlie Kirk, which occurred yesterday in front of his wife and children, as another act of the so-called “deep state”.
Kirk, a prominent conservative figure with millions of followers, is viewed by Anjaparidze as a key target due to his influence and support of conservative youth, including former President Donald Trump’s base.
Anjaparidze compared Kirk’s killing to a recent incident in Germany, where seven candidates from the conservative and increasingly popular Alternative for Germany party were suddenly found dead just before elections, calling both events serious warnings from the “deep state”.
He highlighted that Kirk, six months prior to his murder, publicly stated that the war in Ukraine benefits only the ruling class, not ordinary people, asking:
"Who benefits from peace and who benefits from war? The Ukrainian people benefit from peace. The American people benefit from peace. Humanity benefits from peace. But then, who benefits from war? The military-industrial complex, the oligarchs of Ukraine’s ruling class".
Anjaparidze concluded that the global struggle between the “deep state” and its opponents is ruthless, and recent events - including Kirk’s murder - demonstrate the extreme stakes involved.
