Zelenskyy meets US manufacturer of F-16 fighter jets and patriot missiles

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday met with executives from Lockheed Martin during his visit to the United States to discuss expanding defence co-operation, including joint production and technology sharing.

The company - one of the largest defence manufacturers in the US - produces ATACMS missiles, HIMARS systems, F-16 fighter jets and Patriot interceptor missiles and has been a long-standing partner of Ukraine.

“We discussed further co-operation with Ukraine, particularly joint production and the exchange of technologies. Ukraine has much to share with those who help us protect lives,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that the talks also focused on strengthening capabilities related to the Patriot air defence system and other defence technologies.

According to the President, Lockheed Martin and Ukrainian teams are already working on concrete initiatives that will accelerate joint production and expand Ukraine’s capacity to protect its population.
