Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday said Belarus has switched off relay systems on its territory that Russia had been using to support Shahed drone attacks against Ukraine.
Citing reports from Ukraine’s military leadership and intelligence services, Zelenskyy said the relay stations stopped operating earlier this week.
The President noted that he does not know whether the equipment has been dismantled, but said Ukraine is continuing to monitor developments closely and is “working on this issue.”
The comments come days after Kyiv issued an ultimatum to Belarus. Last Friday Zelenskyy called on Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to remove the relay systems allegedly used by Russia to guide Shahed drones toward civilian infrastructure targets in Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine warned that if the equipment was not removed, it would take action itself.
