Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday announced that the Ukrainian delegation participating in recent talks in Florida has arrived in Ireland, where work on the country’s peace plan continues.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Zelenskyy said the current draft peace plan consists of 20 points.
“Our delegation, which attended meetings in the United States with the US President’s team, has gathered today in Ireland. We now have 20 points that were developed in Geneva and finalized in Florida,” the Ukrainian President said.
Zelenskyy noted that several elements of Ukraine’s peace plan still require completion.
In recent weeks, Ukrainian officials have held multiple rounds of discussions with US counterparts regarding Washington’s proposed peace framework. After initial talks in Geneva, reports indicated that the document had been shortened, reduced from 28 points to 19.
The details of the latest version remain undisclosed. Early drafts reportedly included provisions unacceptable to Kyiv, including a US proposal that Ukraine cede the Donetsk and Luhansk regions to Russia.
Media outlets report that territorial concessions have become a major point of deadlock, as Ukraine remains unwilling to give up the non-occupied areas of Donbas to Russia.
