Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday said Ukrainian forces have, for the first time, captured a Russian position using only drones and ground-based robotic systems, without the involvement of infantry troops.
He added the operation was carried out entirely by unmanned platforms, marking a significant development in modern warfare.
“For the first time in the history of this war, an enemy position was taken exclusively by unmanned systems — robotic platforms and drones. The occupiers surrendered, and the operation was completed without infantry involvement and without any losses on our side,” Zelenskyy said.
The President noted Ukrainian robotic systems, including Ratel, Termit, Ardal, Lynx, Zmey, Protector and Volya, have carried out more than 22,000 missions in just three months.
“In other words, lives were saved more than 22,000 times - robots entered the most dangerous zones instead of soldiers. This demonstrates the use of high technology to protect what matters most: human life,” he added.
