Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday said Russian forces suffered more than 35,000 casualties in March alone, marking one of the highest monthly losses since the start of the war.

Zelenskyy added the majority of losses were inflicted by drone strikes, with 33,988 Russian troops killed or seriously wounded through such operations. A further 1,363 personnel were eliminated by artillery and other strikes.

He said Ukraine’s military systems had verified the losses, adding that all battlefield data had been recorded and could be shared with international partners.

Zelenskyy also noted that Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov had briefed him on the performance of all frontline units, with detailed reports compiled for each sector and category of damage.

“Ukraine’s defence and security forces have deprived the occupiers of the ability to dictate the situation on the front line,” Zelenskyy said.
