Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday held a meeting with the head of the Security Service of the country, Vasyl Maliuk, to discuss ongoing military operations and upcoming missions.
Zelenskyy said the Security Service continued to carry out strikes against Russian troops, including the destruction of enemy air defence systems.
“We thoroughly reviewed the agency’s combat operations. I want to thank every soldier involved,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that Russian forces had been ordered to launch assaults on Ukrainian defensive positions “at any cost,” yet continue to suffer heavy daily losses.
“Only the Security Service units in the Pokrovsk sector are eliminating over 100 occupiers per day. In total, 3,028 Russian soldiers were killed last month. Each death has been confirmed,” the President noted.
Meanwhile, long-range SBU drones reportedly struck one of Russia’s leading oil refineries, located 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. Additional strikes in recent days have targeted several more facilities, resulting in the paralysis of around 38 percent of Russia’s oil refining capacity, according to Ukrainian officials.
