Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that intelligence assessments indicate Russia may focus future attacks on specific Ukrainian defence companies involved in the development of advanced missile technologies.

In a statement, Zelenskyy said he had received a briefing from the head of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, Oleh Ivashchenko, covering Russia’s missile production capabilities, including manufacturing facilities, production volumes, operational ranges and supply routes for critical components sourced from other countries.

The President added Ukraine is already preparing countermeasures aimed at disrupting Russia’s missile production, in coordination with international partners.

“We also know that one of the key areas selected for future Russian strikes against Ukraine – militarily, politically and through propaganda efforts – includes Ukrainian companies that have demonstrated progress in developing all types of missile technologies,” Zelenskyy said.

He added that Russia views Ukraine’s growing capacity to produce ballistic missiles and ballistic missile interception systems as a strategic threat.

“We will respond,” Zelenskyy stated.

The President also revealed that military intelligence had obtained new internal Russian political planning documents, including materials related to Ukraine’s relations with Moldova, countries in the South Caucasus, the Middle East and the Gulf region.

According to Zelenskyy, one of Moscow’s principal political objectives is to weaken Ukraine’s security, economic and strategic ties with these regions.

“Russia is only confirming that both Ukraine and our partners are moving in the right direction – towards greater security, the further strengthening of our sovereignty and the complete neutralisation of Russian influence,” he said.

“We believe Europe should stand much more firmly behind every nation that Russia is attempting to hold back from achieving greater freedom. This is particularly relevant for Armenia at this time, ahead of elections. This is not simply a matter of one political choice or another; it concerns the fundamental right of people to determine their own future,” Zelenskyy added.

The President added that Europe possesses the necessary tools to defend democratic principles and support regional security, and noted that Ukraine would present relevant proposals in cooperation with its international partners.

“I am grateful to everyone who is helping us,” Zelenskyy said.
