Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday said Russia had no intention of stopping its attacks and could only be halted by strong international pressure.
“Russia will never stop on its own. Its goal is to continue killing and destroying lives in Ukraine, and only strong pressure on the aggressor can stop it. Every life matters and deserves protection. I am grateful to our partners who are ready to exert pressure on Russia, support our people and do everything possible to restore a just peace,” he said.
The President announced 25 people, including three children, were killed earlier the day in a Russian attack on Ternopil, in western Ukraine, with 93 others injured.
“Russia once again killed innocent civilians who were simply sleeping in their homes. My condolences to everyone who lost loved ones. Ninety-three people have been injured and are receiving medical care. There are still people under the rubble and rescuers continue their search,” Zelenskyy said.
The President added that emergency services were working on-site to assist victims and provide support through temporary shelters and integration points.
