Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Turkey for a working visit, where he was received at the airport by several officials, including Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.
Video footage from Zelenskyy’s arrival in Ankara showed Turkish officials welcoming the Ukrainian leader, with Umerov also present. Umerov had travelled to Turkey a day earlier on a separate business visit.
During his trip, Zelenskyy is scheduled to hold talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US Special Representative Steve Witkoff.
The visit comes amid recent online speculation claiming that Rustem Umerov had left Ukraine and was refusing to return - claims that Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council swiftly denied.
