Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has marked the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion, paying tribute to the resilience of the Ukrainian people and the sacrifices made in defense of the country.

“Three years of resistance. Three years of gratitude. Three years of absolute heroism of Ukrainians. I am proud of Ukraine! I thank everyone who defends and supports it. Everyone who works for Ukraine. Eternal memory to all those who gave their lives for our state and people,” Zelenskyy wrote.

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine, attacking from multiple directions – north, east, and south. Heavy missile strikes targeted both military and civilian sites as Moscow sought to swiftly seize key cities, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odessa.

However, Ukrainian forces mounted fierce resistance, halting Russia’s advance and disrupting its plans for a rapid takeover. With support from international allies, Ukraine regained control of key regions, including Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson.

As the war enters its fourth year, Ukraine continues to defend its territory. Despite ongoing challenges, the country has held firm against Russian aggression, with battles still raging across the front lines.
