Ukraine is reinforcing all areas of its defence in response to large-scale attacks by Russian forces, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said, adding that specific decisions have already been made regarding the Dnipro and Odesa regions.

He added several regions across the country — including Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Rivne Oblast and Trostianets in Vinnytsia Oblast — are strengthening their air defence and protective capabilities.

“A decision has been made regarding Dnipro. Additional radar systems, electronic warfare systems, and extra crews are being deployed. The military command and the Ministry of Defence are analysing each attack and proposing solutions,” he said.

He also confirmed that a similar decision has been taken for Odesa. While interception rates there are relatively high, he stressed that further reinforcement is still required.

“Our cities and villages need stronger protection. We are working daily with our partners to ensure the supply of air defence components,” Zelenskyy added.

The President also said that, since the morning, Russian forces had launched more than 400 drones at Ukraine, including over 200 Shahed drones. He stated that 388 drones were intercepted.
