Ukraine and its European partners have completed a peace plan aimed at ending the war and are ready to present the document to the United States in the near future, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Tuesday.
“We are working very actively on all components of possible steps to end the war. The Ukrainian and European components have already been finalised and we are ready to present them to our partners in the United States,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that Ukraine is prepared to send the final documents to Washington in the “nearest future”.
“We are interested in real peace and remain in constant contact with the United States. And as our negotiating partners rightly note, everything depends on whether Russia is ready to take effective steps to stop the bloodshed and prevent the war from reigniting,” the President added.
The Trump administration has drafted a proposed peace agreement, with the initial version containing 28 points, including the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Donbas, even from territories currently under Kyiv’s control. The draft also initially considered limiting or reducing Ukraine’s armed forces. Following criticism from both Ukraine and the EU, the document was partially revised and now consists of roughly 20 points.
Negotiations between the Ukrainian and US delegations are ongoing as both sides work to agree on the key principles of a possible peace deal.
