Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday said Ukrainian drones struck major logistics facilities in Russia’s Moscow and Tambov regions overnight, targeting infrastructure used to support Russia’s military production and supply chains.
“Today our long-range sanctions worked in three directions – in Russia, in our temporarily occupied territories and at sea,” Zelenskyy said.
He said the strikes targeted two key logistics facilities located more than 500 km and around 700 km from the front line in the Moscow and Tambov regions. He said the sites were used to supply sanctioned components for the production of drones and navigation equipment. An oil processing facility was also damaged, he added.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine also carried out strikes with medium-range missiles against targets in the Sea of Azov, the Black Sea and Russian-occupied Crimea.
Earlier, Russian authorities and media reported overnight drone attacks in the Moscow region that triggered major fires at a Wildberries logistics warehouse in Elektrostal and an oil depot in Noginsk. Explosions were also reported in the Tver and Vladimir regions.
