Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday revealed that Kyiv was preparing a “significant” new defence agreement with a European partner.
Zelenskyy added Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha had presented a report on the progress made in European affairs, while the presidential administration’s diplomats provided an update on ongoing defense negotiations.
“Our office diplomats also briefed us on one of our defence agreements with a European country. We are preparing an important announcement for next week with one of our partners in Europe,” Zelenskyy said.
The President also discussed his recent conversation with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö. Zelenskyy noted they reviewed joint efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence and coordinated communication with the United States.
“I am grateful that Finland and President Niinistö are always strong supporters of Ukraine. We discussed communication with the US, aligned our positions and this always helps. We also explored joint opportunities here in Europe to rapidly strengthen our air defence,” Zelenskyy added.
