Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has decided to postpone his visit to Saudi Arabia, stating that he does not want any “coincidences” following today’s meeting between Russian and American officials. Zelenskyy made the announcement during a press conference alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

When asked whether he would meet with US officials in Saudi Arabia on February 19, given that they remain there after talks with Russian representatives, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine was not invited to the meeting between Russian and American officials. He added that Kyiv was caught off guard by Washington and Moscow’s discussions.

“I don’t know who will stay there or who will leave. I don’t care. What matters to me is that our partners do not overthink anything about us. I don’t want any coincidences, and that’s why I will not go to Saudi Arabia tomorrow,” Zelenskyy said.

He confirmed that Ukraine has already communicated with its Saudi partners and agreed to reschedule the visit for March 10.

Additionally, Zelenskyy noted that Kyiv is expecting American officials to visit Ukraine.
