Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on diplomatic missions and embassies to return to Kyiv, expressing gratitude toTurkey and Lithuania for their return.
Georgian diplomats have not left the country since the beginning of Russian invasion on February 24.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry recommended only them back in February to leave. However, the diplomats decided to stay despite high risks.
“The embassies are returning to Kyiv,” Zelensky said late yesterday, noting that “their, even symbolic support matters.”
“Please return, you who are brave, return to our capital and continue working,” said Zelensky.
He has told foreign diplomatic missions in Kyiv that it would be “a signal to Russia that Kyiv is ours.”
“This is the capital, this is not a Russian provincial city, this is our city,” Zelensky said.
He added that Russian troops are active in Donbas and the Ukrainians will fight bravely.
