Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on recalling ambassadors from Georgia and Morocco, stating that if diplomats working in various countries fail to achieve imposing sanctions on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and ensure humanitarian and other aid, they should find other jobs.

During a video address late yesterday, Zelensky stressed the importance of the work of Ukrainian diplomats amid the war.

“There are people who work with others to protect the state so that Ukraine can choose its future. We appreciate the moves of each such person. There are those who think only of staying where they are. With great respect: If there are no arms, sanctions, restrictions for Russian business, please look for another job,” Zelensky said.

Zelensky stated  that he expects concrete results in the coming days from the work of Ukrainian ambassadors and military attachés in Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and African countries.

“The diplomatic front is one of the main fronts and everyone there has to work as efficiently as possible to win and help the army,” Zelensky said.

Zelensky announced the recall of the Ambassador from Georgia on March 1 for consultations.

The reason given for the move was Tbilisi’s refusal to impose sanctions on Russia as well as controversies related to sending Georgian volunteers  to fight in Ukraine against Russia.

Tbilisi says that imposing sanctions on Russia would affect Geogians more than Russia, while Georgia has stood by Ukraine in all international resolutions and formats.
