Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed Kyiv’s willingness to sign an agreement with the United States on mineral resources, emphasizing that both sides should move forward with the deal.

Speaking in an interview with FOX News, Zelenskyy described the potential agreement as a crucial step toward security guarantees for Ukraine.
“We are ready for this. It will be the first step toward security guarantees,” he stated.

His comments came after a tense exchange with former US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, who have been critical of continued American support for Ukraine.

When asked whether Ukraine could survive without US assistance, Zelenskyy admitted the challenge but reaffirmed Ukraine’s commitment to its values. “It would be difficult without your support, but we cannot afford to lose our values,” he said.

Discussing the next steps, Zelenskyy noted that Washington was interested in finalizing the agreement. “We are not against this deal, but we want to understand where security guarantees fit into it. I believe ministers should sign the agreement—I don’t know when that will happen. It depends on the American side,” he stated.
