Nugzar Gabelia has been appointed Deputy Mayor of Zugdidi Municipality. He brings extensive experience from both the public and private sectors.

Since 2017, Gabelia has served as the Head of the Regional Project Coordination Department at the Administration of the State Representative in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2017, he held the position of Deputy Head of the same department. Before entering public service, he worked in the business sector in various managerial roles.

From 2004 to 2014, Gabelia was engaged in academic work, serving as an assistant professor and holding several administrative positions, including that of Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Zugdidi University.

Gabelia holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Commerce and Marketing from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. He also completed studies in the Faculty of Humanities in the field of Law.
