66-year-old arrested on charges of sexual violence against his nine-year-old granddaughter in western Georgia

A 66-year-old man was arrested on charges of sexual violence against his nine-year-old granddaughter in Georgia’s western Samegrelo region, the Interior Ministry confirmed with domestic media on Monday.

The investigation was opened under Article 11 Prima 141 and Article 11 Prima 151 of the Criminal Code, which refers to perverted actions and threats committed against a family member.

The child told her mother about the violence from his grandfather, who later contacted the law enforcement officers.
