The United States is expecting responses from Georgia’s ruling party, Georgian Dream, on several key issues, political analyst Zurab Batiashvili said on Tuesday.

Batiashvili further claimed that Washington’s priorities over Georgia had been made clear by various officials and added those included demands for new elections, the release of political prisoners, the status of strategic infrastructure such as ports, and Georgia’s relations with China and Iran.

“There are a number of issues that the US is waiting for answers from the Georgian Dream. If we look at the speed with which repressions have continued, I think that Georgian Dream has not taken a counter-step,” he said.

The remarks come amid heightened scrutiny of Georgia’s political trajectory, with Western partners closely monitoring developments in the country, particularly after the GD Government’s decision last year to halt EU integration until 2028.
