Japaridze claimed he supports unity in any form that contributed to electoral or political success.

Zurab Japaridze, one of the leaders of the opposition group Coalition for Change, has said he is prepared to support any form of political unity that he believes is necessary to secure victory.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Japaridze stressed that unity must be built around a shared strategy rather than symbolic cooperation. He argued that political actions should produce visible results for the public.

“For unity to work, the most important thing is agreement on a common strategy,” Japaridze said. “People need to see the outcome of what each of us is doing.”

He further noted mobilising public protests is the most effective path forward. He said the opposition should focus its collective intellectual and organisational resources on bringing people into the streets.

“I believe the solution lies in mobilising people for street protests. If that becomes everyone’s task, we will be unstoppable,” he said, adding that he saw no alternative route to achieving political change.

Japaridze concluded that he supported unity in any form that contributed to electoral or political success.

“If the question is whether I support unity, my answer is clear: I am ready to sign up to any unity that we need in order to win,” he said.
