Tbilisi City Court has imposed bail of ₾30,000 ($11,177) on Zurab Japaridze, one of the leaders of the opposition Coalition for Change, in connection with the so-called sabotage case.

The judge fully granted the prosecution’s motion, ordering Japaridze to pay bail and to surrender his passport and national ID card to the investigative authorities. The court set a one-month deadline for the payment of bail.

Japaridze, along with Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the opposition party Strategy Aghmashenebeli, has been charged under Article 318, Part 1, and Article 319 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which relate to sabotage and assisting a foreign state in hostile activities.
