Zurab Kadagidze, a member of the People’s Power movement, has condemned recent statements from Ukrainian officials, describing them as a “direct provocation” lacking evidence.

“When a country’s official disseminates such scandalous information, it requires arguments and concrete proof. What we are seeing is a direct provocation, similar to many we have observed from Ukrainian officials and state institutions,” Kadagidze told journalists.

He said the current Ukrainian Government was part of a global network attempting to undermine Georgia.

“Georgia has been accused of secret dealings, collaboration with Russia and attempts to damage the country’s reputation, but these efforts have failed. The current Ukrainian leadership is one component of a global, malicious conjuncture seeking to harm Georgia. Accusing the state without irrefutable arguments and evidence is harmful.

“Georgia has no pending issues with anyone. It follows all international agreements and is among the leading countries taking serious steps in the field of security. This statement appears aimed at internal Georgian politics, giving radical groups and media platforms an opportunity to spread the narrative that ‘Georgia collaborates with an occupying country,’” Kadagidze said.
