Ex.pres Saakashvili’s father calls on public to rally to “save” his son

Nikoloz Saakashvili, father of convicted former president Mikheil Saakashvili, has called on the public to rally at the administration building of the government of Georgia at 14:00 on November 20, to “save” his son.

He claimed that Saakashvili, who was arrested in Tbilisi last October after eight years in political exile, had contracted a “serious illness” while in custody and was “in urgent need” to receive “proper treatment” abroad.

"Let's stand together and deliver the people's voice to this government. Unfortunately, my health condition does not allow me to be physically actively involved in the process of saving Misha's life. .Let's stand by each other and by Misha's side, let's not allow Georgia to turn into a slaughterhouse for the country's presidents. Misha urgently needs to be taken abroad for treatment”, he said.

Saakashvili’s lawyers claim that the third president might have tuberculosis.
