US State Secretary offers condolences over deadly Shovi landslide in Georgia

Antony Blinken, the State Secretary of the United States, on Tuesday offered condolences over the deadly landslide in Georgia’s western Shovi resort last week, killing 19, with at least 15 still missing. 

 

“The United States offers our condolences for those affected by landslides in Georgia. We stand with our friend Georgia and commend the incredible dedication of first responders who are working tirelessly to save lives and attend to the injured”, Blinken tweeted.

 

The landslide hit the popular resort in the country’s Racha region on August 3.
