Josep Borrell, the EU's highest representative for foreign affairs and security policy, on Monday expressed optimism about Georgia's progress during a press conference in Brussels ahead of the Eastern Partnership's foreign ministerial meeting.
Borrell commended Georgia for its positive trajectory, emphasizing that all analyses and proposals from the European Commission have been favorable. "I call on Georgia to continue moving in this way," he said, highlighting the encouraging developments in the country.
Addressing the broader context of the Eastern Partnership, Borrell acknowledged the challenging situations faced by the entire region, including Belarus, Ukraine, and the Caucasus.
Responding to queries about the potential success for Georgia in the current week, especially concerning its awaited candidate status, Borrell reiterated his positive stance. "Georgia is going well. All analyses and proposals from the European Commission are very positive," he affirmed.
