Allies of NATO and the European Union must enhance their involvement and increase financial support for Ukraine, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said during a joint press conference with Montenegro's Prime Minister, Milojko Spajić.

Stoltenberg expressed gratitude to Montenegro for its “steadfast support” to Ukraine, particularly through NATO's comprehensive aid package.

"The maintenance of unity among political leaders is crucial for the stability of both the country and the wider region”, Stoltenberg said.

With the approaching two-year mark since the commencement of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Stoltenberg urged NATO and EU allies to heighten their efforts.

"At this critical juncture, NATO and EU allies should allocate increased funding to Ukraine," Stoltenberg underscored.

He warned that a potential victory for Putin in Ukraine could pose a “genuine threat”, with the risk of him resorting to the use of force once again.
