5 914 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia

According to the information published on Stopcov.ge, within the intensive testing, 56 887 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours. As a result of the testing, 5 914 newly confirmed cases of the virus were detected in the last 24 hours.

 

The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is 496 376. As of August 17, the daily rate of positive is 10.40%, for the last 14 days – 10.71% and for 7 days – 11.09%. In the last 24 hours, 3 316 people recovered from the virus, while the total number of people recovered increased by 432 506. In the last 24 hours, 49 new cases of coronavirus death have been reported.

 

A total of 6 532 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread. 

 

Out of 5 914 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 2,298 cases were detected in Tbilisi, Adjara – 877, Imereti – 789, Kvemo Kartli – 355, Shida Kartli – 318, Guria – 188, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 313, Kakheti – 452, Mtskheta- Mtianeti – 140, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 122, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 62. At present, there are 57,312 active cases of infection, of which: 7,029 people are treated in hospitals, including 3,122 in Tbilisi hospitals, 945 in Adjara, 1,025 in Imereti. At this stage, 1,461 people are seriously ill, including 620 in Tbilisi. In Adjara – 146, in Imereti – 333. There are 327 people on artificial respiration, of which 198 in Tbilisi, 23 in Adjara, 19. In Imereti – 19 450 people are accommodated in clinical hotels, including 1 633 in Tbilisi and 1 298 in Adjara.

 

46 833 people are undergoing treatment for the virus in a residential apartment.
