Georgia’s Interior Ministry said police in Adjara have arrested a Turkish national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice.

The suspect was wanted by Turkish law enforcement authorities in connection with various offenses, including fraud, bodily injury and threats, according to the ministry.

Officers of the Khelvachauri District Division of the Adjara Police Department detained the individual in Adjara following investigative measures.

Extradition proceedings against the detainee are currently underway in accordance with Georgian law.
